1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us. We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us. The personal information we collect may include the following:

  • Usernames
  • Email addresses
  • Household names, room and task content, preferences, achievements, and cleaning history
  • Photos you select for avatars, before/after comparisons, stain analysis, or product scanning
  • AI requests, responses, and related session context when you use AI features

Household Sharing

Wipzie lets you create or join households with other people. Household names, rooms, tasks, task completions, member display names, invite-based membership, product cabinet entries, and related cleaning content may be visible to other members of the same household depending on the feature and household permissions. You should share invite codes only with people you trust.

Account Sign-In

We may offer you the ability to register and log in to our Services using your email address, Apple ID, or Google account. If you use Apple or Google sign-in, we receive the profile information you authorize, such as your name and email address. If you use email sign-in, our authentication provider processes your email address and verification code. We use sign-in information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice or otherwise made clear to you in the Services.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services. We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. The information we collect includes:

  • Log and usage data — Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Services. This may include your IP address, device information, browser type and settings, and information about your activity in the Services (such as the date/time stamps associated with your usage).
  • Device data — We collect device data such as information about your phone, tablet, or other device you use to access the Services. Depending on the device used, this device data may include information such as your device identifier, operating system, and system configuration information.

Payment Data

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card number or security code. We receive subscription information needed to provide Pro access, such as product identifier, entitlement status, store, sandbox status, expiration date, and subscription management URL, through RevenueCat and Apple. All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:

  • To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts.
  • To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user.
  • To store cleaning activity, household collaboration content, photos, progress and preferences.
  • To process subscription access and restore purchases.
  • To provide AI-powered assistance when you submit content to an AI feature.
  • To send optional task reminders and inactivity reminders when you enable notifications. Task reminders may use server-side reminder records and device push tokens so reminders can be delivered through Expo and Apple Push Notification service; inactivity reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
  • To save or protect an individual's vital interest, such as to prevent harm.

3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON TO PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason to do so under applicable law.

If you are located in the EU or UK

The GDPR and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on. We may rely on the following:

  • Consent — We may process your information if you have given us permission to use your personal information for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Performance of a Contract — We may process your personal information when we believe it is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you.
  • Legal Obligations — We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations.
  • Vital Interests — We may process your information where we believe it is necessary to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of a third party.

If you are located in Canada

We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (express consent) or in situations where your permission can be inferred (implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time. In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including for fraud detection, business transactions, or compliance with legal requirements.

4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

In Short: We share information only as needed to provide the Services, process features you choose to use, or in the situations below.

  • Supabase — authentication, database, private media storage, and server functions supporting Wipzie accounts and app functionality.
  • RevenueCat and Apple — subscription purchases, restoration, entitlement validation, and subscription management.
  • Expo and Apple Push Notification service — delivery of optional reminders and notification-related messages.
  • OpenAI — AI feature inputs and outputs, including photos, cleaning context, saved product context, chat messages, or room labels you submit for stain analysis, product scanning, follow-up stain chat, or room matching.
  • Business Transfers — We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

5. DO WE OFFER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PRODUCTS?

In Short: We offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies. As part of our Services, we offer AI-powered features designed to enhance your cleaning experience. These features are powered through OpenAI.

Our AI Features

  • Cleaning stain analysis — AI-powered identification and treatment recommendations for stains from photos you provide.
  • Product ingredient scanning — Analysis of cleaning product labels to detect safety concerns, conflicts, and usage guidance.
  • AI cleaning assistant chat — Conversational follow-up guidance for stain analysis sessions.
  • Smart room matching — Classification of room labels to choose matching room visuals.

How We Process Your Data Using AI

When you use an AI feature, your input (including photos you submit), AI output, and relevant cleaning, room, product, or chat context are sent to and processed by OpenAI to generate the requested assistance. OpenAI requests are sent through our server function and are configured not to be stored by the OpenAI Responses API for model processing history. AI suggestions can be inaccurate. Follow product labels and safety instructions, ventilate when appropriate, and never mix cleaning products.

6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. No purpose in this notice will require us to keep your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us. Earlier versions of Wipzie may have supported body weight and calorie-estimate features. The current app no longer collects body weight and no longer uses calorie tracking. If legacy body weight or calorie-estimate data exists for your account, it is not used by the current app and can be deleted through account deletion or by contacting us. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures. We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

8. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: Depending on your state of residence in the US or your region (EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada), you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right to: • Request access and obtain a copy of your personal information • Request rectification or erasure • Restrict the processing of your personal information • Data portability (if applicable) • Not be subject to automated decision-making • Object to the processing of your personal information You can make such a request by contacting us at hello@wipzie.com. If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or UK data protection authority. If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Withdrawing your consent

If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at hello@wipzie.com. You can also disable reminders in the app or revoke notification permission in your device settings. Please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal.

Account Information

If you would at any time like to review or change information in your account, you can use account settings. You can initiate permanent account deletion in Settings > Account > Delete Account. When you delete your account, we delete your Wipzie account data and uploaded media from our active systems and request deletion of the associated RevenueCat customer record. For accounts created with Apple, we revoke the Sign in with Apple authorization as part of deletion. Deleting your Wipzie account does not itself cancel an active App Store subscription; subscriptions must be cancelled through Apple's subscription settings. We may retain limited information only where required or permitted by law, such as records needed for fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance. If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at hello@wipzie.com.

9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice. California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
